Sergio Buttiglieri is Sanlorenzo shipyard style director of both Ameglia GRP planing hull division and Viareggio GRP semi-displacement hull division.
One of the most authoritative company of Italian design, namely Driade, saw him as Technical Director for more than twenty years. There Sergio Buttiglieri engineered the most important international designers and archistars’ projects, including Philippe Starck, Ron Arad, Mario Bellini, David Chipperfield, Rodolfo Dordoni, Naoto Fukasawa, Toyo Ito, Enzo Mari, John Pawson, Steven Holl, Kazuyo Sejima, Borek Sipek, Oscar Tusquets, Patricia Urquiola e Tokujin Yoshioka.
From 2006, in agreement with Massimo Perotti, Sanlorenzo CEO (the shipyard ranked third in the world for number of motor yacht longer than 24m being produced) Sergio Buttiglieri coordinates shipyard’s design guidelines building functional links with the best decor brands.
Furthermore, he is constantly working on projectual contributions: with naval designer for the external lined and also with some of the most influential interior designers such as Rodolfo Dordoni, Antonio Citterio, Patricia Viel and lately with Piero Lissoni who worked on the astonishing SX88 last best seller of Sanlorenzo lines.
Further to be present at the most respected rendez-vous with contemporary art shaping events simultaneously with “Biennale d’arte” of Venezia , “Art Basel” and “Miami Art Base”, Sanlorenzo is the unique shipyard which can boast corporate relationships with renowned artists who create site specific artworks for the shipyard’s made to measure interiors.
