Giovanni Aurino is in charge of the general coordination of the Od’A studio – Officina d’Architettura of which he has been a partner since 2009. He graduated from the Faculty of Architecture Federico II in Naples, studied during two semesters at the TÜ -Technische Universitaet of Graz (Austria). He is an expert on urban planning disciplines at the Luigi Vanvitelli Faculty of Architecture in Naples. Co-founder of the youth section of InArch Campania, he was a board member of the National Institute of Architecture from 2003 to 2006. From 2006, he becomes a regional councilor for InArch Campania. Co-founder of «Inarchitettura» newspaper and of the homonymous series edited by Ed.Graffiti. Formerly managing editor of inarchgiovani.org and inarchcampania.it websites, in 2013 he founded the architecture portal www.archgld.org (of which he is the managing editor). Member of the organizing committee of numerous architecture exhibitions and design workshops. Founding member of the cultural association “Angia Associazione Nazionale giovani Architetti” and, in 2012, of the L.O.A (Laboratorio Oltre l’Architettura) cultural association, for which he has organized and coordinated the LORO DI NAPOLI international contest of Architecture – from Naples
to Shanghai – for which he has even edited the catalogue, and the NapoliFUD design contest, for the planning of a retail space dedicated to the neapolitan food in London.
In 2011, he won the European11 international contest, participating to the contest on the belgian website of Sambreville (Namur) with the Ville+Sambre+Ville project, for the realization of a new eco residential neighbourhood. In 2013, he won the Urban Light Design Contest, organized by the Order of Architects of Naples, for the requalification of Piazza Matilde Serao in Naples. In 2014, he received a special mention for the concept contest “Un edificio destinato a Housing Sociale in Santeramo in Colle (BA)”. He was the curator of the AD+ tianjin construction planning and design consulting exhibit held from the 16th to the 30th May at Xiangsi Industrial Park of Creativity in Tianjin – China. He took part in the international jury for the design workshop “A temporary store in Tianjin” held during the Tianjin Design Week in the city of Tianjin.
